Azerbaijan, Iran reach several agreements on energy issues 

A meeting of the members of the Joint Technical Commission on completion of the construction “Khudaferin” and “Giz Galasi” (“Maiden Tower”) hydro junctions and hydroelectric power plants was held at Giz Galasi hydro junction to discuss the implementation of the tasks assigned to Commission, Report informs, citing the Energy Ministry.

According to the ministry, in accordance with the agreement on cooperation in construction, operation, use of energy and water resources, the parties discussed works completed and to be done in the future and reached a number of agreements on the issues on the agenda.

At the same time, they decided to increase efforts to meet the electricity needs of the liberated areas, as well as to accelerate the construction of hydropower junctions and hydropower plants, which are of special importance in the supply of irrigation water to agricultural areas.
