Discussions were held between Azerbaijan and Romania on the transit of green energy from Azerbaijan to Europe through the Black Sea during the meeting with the delegation led by the Secretary General of the Government of Romania, Marian Neacsu, at the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan.

Deputy Minister of Energy, Samir Valiyev, said that relations between Azerbaijan and Romania are at the level of strategic partnership and emphasized the broad energy agenda. He spoke about the possibilities of cooperation in the field of natural gas, electricity, and especially renewable energy.

In order to implement the "Agreement on strategic partnership in the field of development and transmission of green energy between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary" signed in Bucharest in December of last year, the issues arising from the decisions taken at the first meeting between the ministers of the four countries were reviewed.

In addition to traditional and renewable energy, the importance of developing cooperation in areas such as energy efficiency and regulation of energy issues was also noted.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the ministry, the Energy Regulatory Agency under the ministry, Azerenergy OJSC, and Azerishiq OJSC took part in the meeting.
