In February this year, 14.537 million barrels of oil were sent via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline to Turkey, Report informs referring to BOTAS, the operator of the Turkish gas transmission network.
According to the report, this is 3.625 million barrels or 19.9 percent less than in February last year.
In January-February this year, 33.504 million barrels of oil were transported via the BTC pipeline through Turkey. This is 4.543 million barrels or 11.9 percent less than in the first two months of 2020.
The BTC pipeline originates from the Sangachal terminal located near Baku. The pipeline’s daily throughput is 1.2 million barrels of oil. The 1,768 km pipeline was commissioned in June 2006. BTC mainly transports oil from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and condensate from Shah Deniz, as well as transit oil.
