Work at the Akkuyu NPP will continue at an accelerated pace, the Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Turkiye Fatih Donmez said, Report informs via the Yeni Şafak newspaper.
“After a while, work will continue at an accelerated pace. The project schedule is binding on us. We should commission the first unit in 2023,” he noted.
Akkuyu is the first project in the nuclear industry to be implemented according to the build-own-operate model. Its cost is about $20 billion.
As part of the preparation of the EPC contract, an agreement was signed with the Turkish company TSM Enerji İnşaat Sanayi Limited Şirketi (TSM).
