"We mainly focused on the completion of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline, the last segment of the Southern Gas Corridor," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with an Italian newspaper La Repubblica on October 7, Report informs.
"On the last day of last year, December 31, the first gas was transported to Europe, and Italy started receiving gas from Azerbaijan. As you know, the Southern Gas Corridor will supply the Italian market with 8 billion cubic meters or more gas. That is, this process has already been completed. Now we have to focus on the future because we have discovered new gas deposits. Simultaneously, we are planning to extract more gas from existing fields. We are also investing heavily in renewable energy sources, along with foreign investors," the head of state said.
