Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan to build solar power plant worth $35M

Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan have set up a joint venture to build a $35 million solar power plant in Issyk-Kul, Report informs referring to Kyrgyz media.

An agreement on the construction of a power plant with a capacity of 50 MW was signed by a subsidiary of the National Energy Holding TazaEnergy and an investment company from Kazakhstan TGS-Energy.

Eighty hectares of land are allocated for the project in the village of Toru-Aigyr. The parties plan that the plant will be ready by December 2023. The life of the solar power plant will be over 25 years, it will supply the network with at least 90 million kWh per year.

In total, the parties plan to build several solar power plants in Kyrgyzstan with a total capacity of 300 MW.
