Minister: Kyrgyzstan interested in green energy corridor via Central Asia and Azerbaijan

Kyrgyzstan welcomes the initiative to create a green energy corridor for the supply of alternative energy from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan through the Caspian Sea and is interested in participating in the project to export its energy, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Energy Taalaybek Ibrayev said in an interview with Report.

"We are interested because Central Asia consists of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. If a neighboring state is connected with Azerbaijan, this is also a big market for selling our electricity," said Ibrayev.

According to him, the energy systems of Central Asian countries have been united since the USSR period and still operate in this format: "Therefore, we are very interested in such projects."
