Oil transportation via Baku-Supsa pipeline suspended

The consortium, which operates the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) mega-structure in the Caspian Sea and is led by British oil giant bp, has suspended oil shipments from Sangachal to the Georgian Black Sea port via the Baku-Supsa route, bp told Report.

According to bp, oil was last exported via this route in April. At that time, the oil was transported from the port of Supsa by two tankers of bp and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

All the oil produced by the consortium at ACG will probably be sent via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC).

According to traders, the supplies via Baku-Supsa were suspended because of the complexity of logistics in the Black Sea.
