The Russian authorities are considering various options for responding to the price cap imposed by the EU and G7 countries on oil supplies from the Russian Federation, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, Report informs referring to Russian media.
“Various options are being considered. After the decision is made, it will be made public,” he said.
Earlier, Vedomosti newspaper reported that Russia was discussing three options for responding to the introduction of the oil price cap. The first option could be a complete ban on the sale of oil to countries that supported the restriction, the second option includes a ban on exports under contracts that include a price ceiling condition, regardless of which state imports oil.
The latter involves the introduction of the so-called indicative price: the determination of the maximum discount for Urals oil to Brent. If the discount increases, the sale will be prohibited.
