SOCAR ranks second in fuel sales to Ukraine Defense Ministry

SOCAR Ukraine, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), has revealed the volumes of fuel sold to Ukraine’s Defense Ministry in 2020, Report informs, referring to Ukrainian media.

Last year, the Azerbaijani company signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to supply 33,000 tons of diesel fuel and 6,100 tons of aviation fuel.

SOCAR Ukraine ranked second in terms of fuel supply to the Ministry of Defense. In 2019, the company was fourth.

Alliance Energo Trade (AET) company was the biggest fuel supplier for the Ministry of Defense in 2020. Ukraine’s Armed Forces signed a deal on 56,010 tons of the resources with the company, including 37,480 tons of diesel fuel, 11,830 tons of aviation kerosene, and 6,700 tons of A-80 gasoline.

The Lyuks Krayina company is third in terms of deliveries with 36,960 tons, including 21,320 tons of aviation fuel and 15,600 tons of diesel fuel.

At the end of the year, the defense ministry signed contracts for the supply of 126,800 tons of summer and Arctic diesel fuel (+70 percent by 2019), 62,290 tons of aviation fuel (+55 percent), 6,700 tons of A-80 low-octane gasoline, 2,650 tons of A-92 gasoline and 636 tons of A-95 gasoline.

In 2020, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense signed 58 contracts for the supply of 199,000 tons of fuel, which is 41 percent more than the volumes contracted in 2019 (141,700 tons). The number of the ministry’s suppliers in 2020 increased to ten companies in 2020 against eight in 2019.
