SOCAR to prospect for oil in Turkiye

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will prospect for oil in Batman, Turkiye.

In accordance with the Oil Reserves Agreement signed between Turkiye and Azerbaijan, Deputy Chief Engineer of SOCAR Complex Drilling Works Trust, Zakulla Karimov, and an official of Turkish Petroleum (TPAO), Hamza Oguzhan, are on a visit to Batman to conduct preliminary investigations.

During the visit, SOCAR officials met with the governor of Batman, Ekrem Canalp, to conduct oil exploration and drilling in Turkiye.

Speaking to the officials of SOCAR and TPAO in Batman Governorate, Canalp received information from the company officials about the oil exploration activities they will carry out.

Karimov said they plan to carry out the most crucial drilling works in Batman within the framework of the agreement.

He noted that the Azerbaijan-Turkiye brotherhood will deepen with our oil exploration activities.

The governor of Batman wished success in the drilling works to be carried out by SOCAR.
