South Korea has decided to redirect part of the supplies of liquefied natural gas to European countries against the backdrop of LNG shortage due to the situation in Ukraine, Report informs referring to TASS.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on April 27 decided that the South Korean authorities could afford to provide Europe with a similar service, since the winter has already ended. The supply volumes will be such that they won’t affect domestic demand and gas prices. However, Seoul did not specify when exactly and in what quantity energy resources will be supplied.

Yonhap News Agency reports that South Korea was probably asked for such assistance either in Europe or in the US. In February, a similar request from Washington was denied in Seoul.
