Passenger electric vehicle (EV) sales are projected to increase sharply, rising from 3 million in 2020 to 66 million in 2040, Report informs referring to Bloomberg.
Globally, EVs will represent more than two-thirds of passenger vehicle sales in 2040. Electric vehicle adoption is accelerating thanks to improvements in battery density and cost, more charging points, and government policies that make driving dirty cars more complicated. Europe and China are leading the transition.
A number of the world’s leading carmakers have also announced the transition to the production of electric cars in the coming years. General Motors expects to make the transition by 2035. In the coming years, Jaguar Land Rover and Bentley Motors intend to reorient themselves to produce such vehicles.
