Baku to host 5th meeting of Egypt-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission 

The fifth meeting of the Azerbaijan-Egypt Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Technical, and Scientific Cooperation will be held in Baku on February 23-25, 2022, Egyptian Embassy in Azerbaijan told Report.

The meeting will be chaired by Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Rania A. Al-Mashat, and Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev.

According to the Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Adel Ibrahim, Egypt-Azerbaijan Business Forum will also be held within the Commission's activity. The forum will be attended by nearly 30 representatives from companies operating in export, import, tourism, manufacturing, construction, agriculture, transport, communication, IT, financial sector, renewable energy, chemistry and heavy machinery industry.

"The intergovernmental Commission and the business forum will promote more effective cooperation between the two countries in different fields. The Egyptian political leadership supports the expansion of the cooperation between the two countries and is interested in activating the agreements signed between the countries," he said.

The two countries have signed about 50 documents. Another 21 draft documents are being discussed. 14 Egyptian companies operate in Azerbaijan.
