Cost of bitcoin exceeds psychological level of $16 thousand

The cost of the most popular cryptocurrency — bitcoin-on Thursday is growing by about 4%, for the first time since January 2018, exceeding 16 thousand US dollars, Report says, citing the auction data.

According to the Coinmarketcap portal, which calculates the average price for more than 20 exchanges, as of 13.56 (Baku time), bitcoin is growing in price by 3.45%, to 15,923 US dollars. On the largest cryptocurrency exchange in terms of trading volume, Binance, bitcoin is increasing in price by 4.21% to 16,076 US dollars. Thus, the cost of cryptocurrency for the first time since January 8, 2018, exceeded the psychological level of 16 thousand US dollars.

Bitcoin accounts for 64.6% of the global cryptocurrency market.

The director of the Center for Social Matrix Technologies Socioma, Vladimir Panushkin said the bitcoin exchange rate's growth looks like good revenge after a small corrective rest at the end of last week.

"It is quite possible that by the end of today, the main cryptocurrency will be able to go further," Panushkin added.
