In accordance with EU support for programs in Azerbaijan, the European Investment Bank (EIB) is ready to consider the possibility of financing various development projects, including rehabilitation and reconstruction projects in Azerbaijan, Maciej Czura, Head of European Investment Bank's Regional Representation for the South Caucasus told Report in an interview.
He noted that they are actively discussing potential projects that are in line with national priorities and EU goals with the Azerbaijani government and various stakeholders.
For example, the bank may consider funding projects for sustainable regional development, the use of natural resources, the development of communication and connectivity, and the digitalization of ICT. Czura added that this list also includes projects of “green” and “smart” urban development and mobility, circular economy, renewable energy projects, energy efficiency and private sector development.
The EIB is an EU bank operating in Azerbaijan since 2014. The bank operates within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP), Eastern Partnership (EaP) and other bilateral agreements between the EU and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
