Lithuania freezes large funds under sanctions against Russia, Belarus

The Lithuanian government has frozen millions of dollars, euros, and hundreds of thousands of rubles on the basis of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United States against Russia and Belarus over the events in Ukraine, the Lithuanian Financial Crime Investigation Service says, Report mentions via TASS.

"In relation to seven legal entities and individuals, funds for 19.215 million euros and 2.071 million dollars have been frozen under sanctions," the report adds.

Money transfers from such persons are also blocked in financial institutions of Lithuania for 1.063 million euros, 1.348 million dollars, and 546,000 rubles, the service does not specify for how long the funds are frozen.

Representatives of Belarus are also subjected to similar measures. Sanctions totaling 45,700 euros were applied to three legal entities and one individual from this country.
