Mikayil Jabbarov: Number of active taxpayers in Azerbaijan up 1.8 times since 2019

Azerbaijan has seen an increase in labor market transparency in recent years, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said at today's plenary session of Milli Majlis, according to Report.

He said from the beginning of 2019 to present, the total number of labor contracts increased to 470,000, including 446,000 in the non-oil private sector, indicating significant legalization of the labor market.

"The number of active taxpayers increased 1.8 times from January 1, 2019, to November 1, 2024, reaching 795 thousand," Jabbarov emphasized.

Additionally, he reported that over the first 10 months of this year, Azerbaijan's economy showed 4.9% growth, which exceeds global economic growth forecasts by 1.7 percentage points.
