Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov and Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Taleh Kazimov held bilateral meetings with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva and Swiss Finance Minister Ueli Maurer, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Finance.
The meetings were held on July 3-6 in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, within the framework of the conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Election Group, of which Azerbaijan is a member.
The meeting celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Election Group and Azerbaijan's admission to the IMF focused on the current state of the world economy, high inflationary trends, the challenges arising from the Russia-Ukraine war in the global energy and food markets and possible fiscal and monetary policies to counter these challenges.
