State Tax Service: Income, profit and VAT exemptions will be applied to Azerbaijani media

Together with the Media Development Agency (MEDIA), the State Tax Service has prepared certain proposals on tax breaks for journalists and media entities and submitted them to the Cabinet of Ministers, Deputy Chief of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy Samira Musayeva told Report.

"Of course, it is not right to announce the full range of changes without the adoption of the Law on Media, but we can say that the changes are related to the provision of temporary discounts and exemptions to the income and profits of the media, as well as the introduction of tax exemptions from VAT on products provided by media outlets," Musayeva said.

According to her, the state's approach to the media has always been sensitive: "Attitudes towards the media are sensitive all over the world. The role of the Azerbaijani press during the Patriotic War is undeniable. Not only the State Tax Service but all relevant government agencies take appropriate measures to support the development of the media in the country within their powers."
