Manchester City sets new anti-record in Champions League

Manchester City has become the first team in Champions League history to blow a three-goal lead inside the final 15 minutes of a match in the competition, Report informs via Football Transfers.

Pep Guardiola’s side raced into a 3-0 lead against Feyenoord on Tuesday night, but late goals from Anis Hadj-Moussa, Santiago Gimenez, and David Hancko condemned the Citizens to a disappointing draw at the Etihad Stadium.

The result means Manchester City have failed to win in each of their last six games, although the 3-3 draw has at least ended the worst losing streak of Guardiola’s managerial career.

In the process, Manchester City made Champions League history by becoming the first team to lead a match by three goals as late as the 75th minute and still fail to win.

Furthermore, it is the first time during his career in the dugout in which a Guardiola team has squandered a three-goal lead.
