Orkhan Mammadov: 'We will hold one of the big international tournaments in Azerbaijan within a year or two'

In an interview with Report, the honorary president of the Azerbaijan Minifootball Federation, Orkhan Mammadov, spoke about holding international-level tournaments in Azerbaijan.

Thus, he believes Azerbaijan will hold one of the big international tournaments within a year or two.

The president of the federation said that after becoming the European champion, they negotiated with both the World Minifootball Federation (WMF) and the European Minifootball Federation (EMF) to learn the mood of the other party: "Personally, I have conducted several negotiations. The president of the WMF is here now. He is participating in the tournament and also gave the opening speech. During these days, we will have several meetings with him, and one of the topics will be organizing the world or European championships in Baku. We will do one of them depending on the negotiations."

Orkhan Mammadov noted that Azerbaijan has sufficient conditions and has repeatedly hosted international sports events: "During his stay in Baku, the WMF President took part in the Formula 1 competition and saw how the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was held. I think we have a high chance in this regard."
