AFFA plants over 50,000 trees

The UEFA Executive Committee has decided to plant 50,000 trees in the host countries to contribute to the environmental situation in the European Championship host cities.

Report informs that AFFA welcomed this initiative of UEFA. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has planted 50,600 trees in a year around the Khojahasan Lake and along the section of the airport highway passing through the Surakhani district.

The European Championships in 2020 has been postponed from June 11 to July 11 this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. EURO 2020 will be held in Baku, St. Petersburg, London, Munich, Rome, Bucharest, Dublin, Copenhagen, Bilbao, Glasgow, Budapest, and Amsterdam.

The Baku Olympic Stadium will host Group A matches, including Switzerland - Wales, Turkey - Wales, and Turkey - Switzerland, and a quarterfinal match.
