Azerbaijan and Pakistan are taking steps to further increase trade and expand ties in various fields, Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov said at the seminar on the fundamental role of Heydar Aliyev in the development of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations at Islamabad University.
Report informs citing International News that, according to him, Azerbaijan needs the services of qualified personnel from Pakistan in the field of IT and the pharmaceutical industry.
Azerbaijani people, especially students, are very interested in learning Urdu - the state language of Pakistan and the culture of the country, he added.
The ambassador stressed that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are two fraternal Muslim countries linked by historical, cultural and religious ties.
Azerbaijan supports Pakistan's position on the Kashmir issue, raising this issue in the United Nations and demanding its solution in the light of UN resolutions, he said.
In conclusion, Farkhadov expressed hope that Pakistani and Azerbaijani universities would establish close ties.
