A high-level visit from Azerbaijan to Mongolia is anticipated in the near future, Mongolia's non-resident ambassador to Azerbaijan Gombosuren Munkhbayar said, Report informs.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the Mongolian Embassy in Ankara, Türkiye, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Mongolian People's Republic and the adoption of its first constitution, the diplomat highlighted the deepening friendship and political ties between Mongolia and Azerbaijan.
Munkhbayar emphasized his commitment to fostering the development of Mongolia-Azerbaijan relations in all spheres.
In an exclusive statement to Report, he revealed that during the recent meeting between Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev within the framework of COP29 in Baku, the two leaders extensively discussed the potential for enhancing bilateral ties.
"The presidents agreed on organizing high-level visits in the near future and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation," the ambassador stated.
He also noted that a high-level visit from Mongolia to Azerbaijan took place in 2018. This time, a similar visit from Azerbaijan to Mongolia is expected.
The Mongolian diplomat also assessed the prospects of enriching Mongolia-Azerbaijan relations with economic content, increasing investments, and establishing effective cooperation in agriculture, transportation, logistics, and education.
"For instance, currently, over 500 Mongolian students are studying in Türkiye. During the Soviet era, many of our citizens studied at Azerbaijani universities. We consider it beneficial to restore this tradition," he added.
