Ambassador: Relations between Egypt, Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen

Relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan will continue to strengthen and prosper, Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid said during an official reception dedicated to the national holiday of his country, Report informs.

According to the ambassador, a regular meeting of the joint commission on economic, technical and scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt will be held in the near future, and it will contribute to the development of economic and trade relations between Baku and Cairo.

“At the beginning of 2023, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi visited Baku, and in June of this year, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Egypt. These two visits marked an important milestone in the development of our bilateral relations and will make a huge contribution to the development of Egyptian-Azerbaijani relations. The presidents of the two countries expressed interest in discussing opportunities for cooperation in many areas, such as construction, transport, pharmaceuticals, energy and infrastructure. It was decided to hold the next meeting of the joint commission on economic, technical and scientific cooperation as soon as possible in order to promote the development of our economic and trade relations,” said the diplomat.

The Egyptian ambassador also congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting COP29 in November 2024, as well as the World Urban Forum (WUF) in 2026.
