Diplomatic warning: Azerbaijan calls on Armenia to abandon revanchist fantasies

Hikmat Hajiyev, the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, has issued a warning to Armenia's political and military leadership. According to Report, in a recent statement, Hajiyev advised them to "completely abandon revanchist fantasies" and cease their militarization policy to avoid repeating historical mistakes.

His statement comes in response to the claims made by Secretary of Armenia's Security Council that Russia had "handed over" Karabakh to Azerbaijan. Hajiyev dismissed these assertions as nothing more than an attempt by both former and current Armenian leadership to cover up their defeat, shift blame, and justify their actions.

Hajiyev proudly recounted Azerbaijan's military achievements, noting that the Azerbaijani Army, through sacrifice and valor on the battlefield, defeated the Armenian army in the 44-day Patriotic War and achieved an absolute military victory, ending Armenia's 30-year occupation and forcing them to sign an act of capitulation.

"The Armenian leadership itself has admitted that there are more than 10,000 deserters in the army. As a result of the anti-terror operation carried out in September 2023, in less than 23 hours, the remnants of the Armenian army that continued to stay illegally in Azerbaijan's territory were disarmed, and Karabakh was completely liberated. In total, weapons and ammunition of the Armenian army worth more than $5 billion US dollars were destroyed or captured as trophies. Both the 44-day Patriotic War and the anti-terror operation are studied as unique military operations in military academies of many countries around the world. We would like to note with regret that such statements are a manifestation of revanchist illusions still remaining in the mindset of Armenia's political-military leadership. We advise those in Armenia's political-military leadership to completely abandon revisionist and revanchist illusions, and to end the policy of militarization in order not to repeat historical mistakes," he said.
