Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Los Angeles makes film on Republic Day - VIDEO

The Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles has produced a short film dedicated to Republic Day.

The consulate told Report that the film, which was presented with colorful pictures and videos and accompanied by the genius composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli's "Koroglu" overture, notes that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) was founded in 1918 and was the first secular democratic country in the Muslim world.
At the same time, the film mentions that in 1919, for the first time in the Muslim world, Azerbaijan granted suffrage to its female population.

The film says that the ADR began to build a modern state by carrying out progressive reforms. However, Azerbaijan, with its rich oil reserves, was the main target of the Bolsheviks, emphasizing Vladimir Lenin's words, "The Soviet state cannot survive without Baku oil," and on April 28, 1920, the Soviet army occupied Azerbaijan. It is noted that 50,000 Azerbaijanis died in the struggle against this occupation.

The film emphasizes that Azerbaijan regained its independence 71 years later, on October 18, 1991, and in 2020 liberated its lands from the 30-year occupation. As an independent state, Azerbaijan is the country with the strongest economy in the region, implements huge projects connecting the continents, and is a clear example of inter-religious harmony to the whole world. The film notes that our country is proud of its progressive heritage and confidently walks into the future.
The film was translated into Spanish and Greek by the Azerbaijani Embassies in Argentina and Greece.

It should be noted that given the development of social networks, the importance of short films in effective propaganda has increased significantly in recent years. Taking this into account, our Consulate General in Los Angeles has produced and disseminated 24 films on various topics about Azerbaijan since 2019. Some of the films have been translated into other leading languages of the world.
