Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Fariz Rzayev visited the Kingdom of Morocco, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The deputy minister participated in a roundtable at the Moroccan Academy of Diplomatic Studies in Rabat, alongside young diplomats from Morocco and other African countries. During his presentation "Azerbaijan's Foreign Policy," Rzayev addressed questions about the country's foreign policy course at bilateral and multilateral levels, current regional processes, bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Morocco, partnership within international organizations, Azerbaijan's successful COP29 chairmanship, and decisions made during the conference.
During his visit, Fariz Rzayev participated in the 16th International MEDays Forum in Tangier, held under the patronage of the King of Morocco.
The forum was attended by about 6,000 representatives from more than 100 countries. Speaking at a panel session on energy transition, Fariz Rzayev discussed his country's green energy transition policy, use of alternative energy sources, and work done under Azerbaijan's COP29 chairmanship.
On November 29, during a panel session on global governance crisis and multilateralism, Rzayev informed forum participants about Azerbaijan's foreign and security policy.
Fariz Rzayev noted that since regaining independence, Azerbaijan has placed special emphasis on the rule of international law and multilateralism. He mentioned the threats the country faced and the consequences of Armenian occupation. He emphasized Azerbaijan's significant contribution to regional integration through important energy and transport projects. He also highlighted Azerbaijan's successful 4-year chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.
