Azerbaijan's main goals on Mexican television

Mexican state television Canal Once channel's "News" program aired an interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico Mammad Talibov on the post-conflict situation in the region and Azerbaijan's priorities in the liberated territories.

Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico told Report that according to the interview, the main goals of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories are to rebuild the residential infrastructure and ensure the safe return of Azerbaijani IDPs.

However, there are serious obstacles to achieving these goals in the short term, including the destruction of the infrastructure of these territories during the nearly 30-year occupation, the extensive elimination of our historical and cultural heritage, as well as mass mining and refusal of Armenia to provide a map of mined areas in violation of international humanitarian law.

The ambassador noted that in order to ensure lasting peace and security in the region, Armenia must renounce its aggressive policy, recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and prepare its people for reconciliation.

Commenting on the question of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's reference to Karabakh as an example when speaking about the violation of fundamental principles of international law during her speech in PACE, it was noted that Azerbaijan has been trying to draw attention to this critical point for almost 30 years, and the only way to lasting peace is to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states.
