Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the telephone conversation, the parties discussed the current regional situation in the Middle East, the growing tension in the region, as well as bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Fuad Hussein provided detailed information on the latest developments in the region and drew attention to the fact that the expansion of the conflict is a cause for serious concern.
The Iraqi party was informed about the final preparations for COP29, which Azerbaijan will host in a few days, and possible areas of cooperation were touched upon.
During the meeting, they also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
