As part of his working visit to Georgia, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has met with the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Report informs, citing AZERTAC.
Expressing his gratitude for the invitation to the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum held in Tbilisi, the Azerbaijani Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the event in terms of discussing economic and transport issues on the regional and global agenda.
The two hailed the development of bilateral relations between the countries, adding that the joint efforts of President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili helped elevate Azerbaijan-Georgia relations to the level of strategic partnership.
The parties lauded the trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing that both countries posted a 12% rise in mutual trade over 9 months of the current year.
The PMs also exchanged views on investment opportunities, as well as energy and transport projects, the potential of transport corridors, Sea Ports and the Green Energy Corridor (GEC).
The Azerbaijani PM informed the Georgian counterpart about the favorable investment climate in the country.
Ali Asadov expressed his gratitude for the excellent organization of the events marking the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Georgia.
The parties also viewed the concrete projects implemented between the two countries and discussed the prospects for cooperation in various areas.
