Kamarudin Jaffar, deputy minister of foreign affairs of Malaysia, will undertake working visits to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Azerbaijan January 15-23, 2022, Report informs referring to the press service of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry.
The deputy minister will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In Baku, the deputy minister is scheduled to call on his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov. The visits will focus on initiatives to strengthen bilateral cooperation, in particular, increasing economic and trade ties, as well as people to people ties, and post COVID-19 pandemic cooperation.
The visits reflect Malaysia’s longstanding and close ties with Azerbaijan.
Total bilateral trade between Malaysia and Azerbaijan for January-October 2021 amounted to $28.8 million.
