Diplomats visit Khudavang Monastery in Azerbaijan

Representatives of the diplomatic corps in Azerbaijan embarked on a captivating journey to the Khudavang Monastery Complex, nestled in the picturesque Kalbajar district.

According to Report, diplomats were provided with comprehensive information about this monument. They learned about the fate of the Khudavang temple, which fell victim to Armenian vandalism during the occupation period from 1992 to 2020.

Under the guise of "restoration," illegal activities were carried out in the monastery with the support of the Armenian Apostolic Church and funded by the Armenian state.

The external appearance of the Arzu-Khatun and Hasan the Great churches, along with other buildings within the complex, were altered in an attempt to distort their history.

After the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from occupation, Armenian priests and monks who remained in the monastery, with the involvement of foreign specialists, meticulously dismantled ancient frescoes and illegally transported them out of the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
