Türkiye may act as a special representative of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) for the effective use of the Middle Corridor, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the OTS summit on November 6, Report informs.
The Turkish leader emphasized the need to use and develop transport corridors, particularly the Middle Corridor, to expand trade and economic cooperation among OTS countries.
"During the summit in Shusha, the president of Azerbaijan proposed to appoint a special representative for the effective use of the Middle Corridor," Erdogan reminded, adding that he is ready to propose Türkiye's candidacy for this role.
Erdogan also reported that the total population of OTS members is 175 million people, and the volume of mutual trade is at the level of $1.2 trillion.
