The Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow celebrated the anniversary of the victory in the 44-day war, the Russian bureau of Report informs.
A photo exhibition was presented at the event, demonstrating the events of the second Karabakh war.
The celebration of the anniversary of the Victory at the embassy began with the performance of the anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu said that the embassy marks the first anniversary of Azerbaijan’s victory in the second Karabakh war: “Today we listened to the speech of the respected Azerbaijani President from Shusha in front of our soldiers. When I saw Vice President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Shusha, I was happy and proud and felt deep gratitude to them. As a person from Karabakh, I was very happy. Finally, we saw this day.”
The ambassador expressed his condolences to the families of martyrs and wished health to the war veterans: “We won the war at the cost of the lives of the killed soldiers. The enemy has been expelled from our lands, Shusha has been returned, Karabakh is Azerbaijan! Our consolation is precisely in this.”
The ambassador also spoke about the restoration work that is being carried out on the liberated lands, noting that the International Airport in Fuzuli city, as well as the Victory Road, were built in a short time.
Bulbuloglu expressed special gratitude to the ambassadors of Turkey, Israel and Pakistan for their constant support in the Karabakh issue.
The event was also attended by Azerbaijani MPs, ambassadors of Turkey, Israel, Pakistan and Kazakhstan in Moscow, public representatives of Russia and the Azerbaijani diaspora.
