A photo exhibition entitled "Three colors - Green, Red, Blue - The South Caucasus from the Industrial Revolution to the Soviet Occupation" has opened in the Georgian capital Tbilisi, Report informs.

The exhibition, organized at the Tbilisi Museum of Photography and Multimedia with the support of the US Embassy in Georgia, features more than 100 photographs from Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.

The photographs are from the Library of US Congress and the National Archives of Georgia. Photos by Dmitry Yermakov, Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky, Alexander Roinashvili and others show the three countries on the brink of great change - from the second half of the 19th century to the Soviet occupation.

Twenty-two photos were presented in the Azerbaijani corner of the exhibition. The photos from the National Archives of Georgia show the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a fire in an oil well in Bibiheybat, a market and shop in Ganja, Baku, Shamakhi, etc.

The curator of the exhibition, Nestan Nijaradze, said that no such photo exhibition dedicated to the three countries of the South Caucasus had been held before.

"The exhibition demonstrates a critical period in the region. The photographs reflect the political, economic and cultural choices of the countries. Industrial revolutions and development have opened up significant opportunities for Georgia and Azerbaijan's integration into Europe. For Azerbaijan, for example, it was oil production," she said.

The exhibition is part of events marking the 30th anniversary of the United States-Georgia diplomatic relations.

The exhibition is free and will be open until May 25.
