The historic official visit of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in Azerbaijan on December 8 marks an important geopolitical event in bilateral relations, US political scientist, an expert in the field of international relations Peter Tase told Report.
“Baku has always supported the economic development of Tirana, and now Prime Minister Edi Rama is elevating the bilateral dialogue into the highest levels. As a UN Security Council non-permanent member, Albania has constantly supported the full territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
“The political dialogue among the two governments is at the highest levels and this visit will further strengthen the bilateral economic partnership. Azerbaijan can provide a significant support to Albania’s efforts in building an oil refinery. Albania needs petroleum engineers and Azerbaijan’s government can train the newest generation of engineers,” he noted.
“The energy economics of European Union can immensely benefit from the strong cooperation between Baku and Tirana. The Republic of Albania has a great potential to apply the successful grand tourism projects.”
