Expert says role of interregional cooperation in Azerbaijan-Russia relations is vital

Interregional cooperation occupies an exceptionally important place in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, Igor Korotchenko, Director General of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies, told Report.

"Interregional cooperation is a crucial element in the development of the entire complex of bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan," Korotchenko stated. "The ties between the regions of the North Caucasus and Azerbaijan are extremely important, as they contribute to strengthening the economic potential of the regions and foster mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and joint projects."

The expert highlighted the significant work being done to improve transport communications between the two countries. "Overall, against the backdrop of the entire range of successfully developing relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, interregional cooperation occupies an exceptionally important segment," he added.

Korotchenko emphasized that the friendly and interregional ties between Moscow and Baku will continue to make an important contribution to strengthening peace, stability, and security in the region.
