The tragic terrorist attack in embassy of Azerbaijan in Teheran is the most painful event suffered by the foreign service officers of the Republic of Azerbaijan since the country’s independence proclamation in August 1991, US political scientist and expert in international relations Peter Tase told Report.
“European Union and the United States of America must hold responsible, publicly the terrorist regime of Iran, which represents a ruthless theocracy that has always attempted to harm the national interests of Azerbaijan.
The entire democratic world must stand in defense and support the Republic of Azerbaijan in these difficult times. It is unfortunate that western democratic governments including Germany, France, Canada and other major powers continue to maintain diplomatic channels of communication and conduct trade relations with the terrorist regime of Iran,” he added.
“The most severe sanctions must be placed against the totalitarian authorities of Teheran. Iran has regularly provided weapons to Armenian army and the OSCE, NATO and UN have remained silent; now is the time for international community to impose restrictions against Iran’s ayatollahs and freeze Iran’s financial assets abroad,” Tase said.
