The relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan are an example for other countries, deputy of the Georgian parliament Savalan Mirzeyev told Report.
He noted that thanks to the joint efforts of the leaders of the two countries, relations have reached the level of strategic partnership.
"I believe that it was during the period when the ruling party Georgian Dream was in power that bilateral relations with Azerbaijan developed and strengthened even more. As a representative of the ruling party and a member of the inter-parliamentary friendship group, I see that efforts are being made to expand cooperation in different directions," Mirzeyev noted.
The deputy also noted that the people of Georgia are well aware of the political course of the ruling party.
"Everyone knows well that our main goal is to maintain peace in the country and its development. We have been receiving the mandate of the Georgian people for 12 years already. I hope that on October 26 we will again receive the support of the people. The preliminary results of ongoing sociological surveys further strengthen this confidence," Mirzeyev added.
He emphasized that for several months now, the West has been trying to create conditions for a coup in Georgia: "They are appealing to forces outside the country to somehow create chaos, disrupt order. But they will not succeed."
