Germany has introduced rapid coronavirus testing in kindergartens, schools, and universities.
The Ministry for Children, Family, Refugees, and Integration of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia told the European bureau of the Report that free speed test packages were provided to educational institutions for this purpose.
These tests should be used twice a week, and the results should be reported to the relevant authorities immediately. A person with a positive coronavirus test should isolate himself at home for 14 days.
The ministry said the tests should be used only at home, two hours before coming to the school.
"This method allows us not to shut down an entire school, kindergarten, or university for the positive results of one student," the ministry stated.
According to the latest statistics released by the Robert Cox Institute for Infectious Diseases in Germany, there are 240,700 active coronavirus carriers. So far, 78,249 people have fallen victim to the virus, while 2,665,500 have recovered.
