The Astana Statement on the Transformation of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and five other documents were approved at the summit on Thursday, the Kremlin's website says.
Report informs citing TASS that the documents include the statement of the Heads of States - CICA members on cooperation in the security in the field of the use of IT technologies and the CICA action plan for the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
The decision of the CICA summit on the issue of granting Kuwait the status of a member state of the association and the decision on the CICA chairmanship in 2022-2024 and holding regular meetings of the Council of Heads of State and Government and the Council of Ministers were also approved.
In addition, the regulation on the CICA Fund was adopted.
The conference involves the countries that occupy about 90% of the territory of Asia and in which almost half of the world's population lives. Now the Conference brings together 27 states, including Russia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Tajikistan, Turkiye, Uzbekistan and others.
