Azerbaijan is considering the possibility of using the Aghdam-Khankandi road both to supply the Garabagh region of the country and in the broader context of the future reintegration of the population of this part of the country into Azerbaijani society, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan told foreign diplomats during the trip to Aghdam, according to Report.
But the rejection of this shows that it is much more important for the Armenian side to manipulate international public opinion, Hajiyev said.
He recalled that in one of the recent discussions, an understanding was reached with Garabagh Armenians on a meeting in Azerbaijan's Yevlakh with an Azerbaijani designated representative and also a representative of the Armenian residents of Garabagh.
Hikmat Hajiyev noted that as part of the agreement, the ICRC was to convoy the first transport supposed to be open from Aghdam to Khankandi and then in 24 hours the Lachin road could also be open.
"But unfortunately during the discussion, the last moment, they (the Armenian side - ed.) have changed their mind, they also refused and decline to use this road," he said.
