Hikmet Hajiyev and Deputy Head of Ukraine President's Office hold consultations

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held online consultations with Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev.

The interlocutors discussed measures taken in Ukraine and Azerbaijan to counter the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccinate citizens.

Hikmet Hajiyev praised the inclusion of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the list of strategic partners of Ukraine in the National Security Strategy, which was approved in 2020. He thanked Ukraine's firm position in support of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

The interlocutors discussed the current security situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. They exchanged views on the contribution that Ukraine can make to restore the infrastructure of the liberated territories and the economy of Azerbaijan.

Ihor Zhovkva and Hikmet Hajiyev also coordinated actions for further high-level bilateral dialogue activities this year.
