The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian left Tehran for Azerbaijan at the invitation of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Report informs.
During his visit, Amirabdollahian is scheduled to meet and hold talks with high-ranking officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the expansion of bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
FM said in an interview with Iran's IRIB TV channel that he would meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, and other officials during the visit: "Tehran-Baku relations are good, stable, and prone to development, despite some misunderstandings in recent months.
"Over the past two months, we have witnessed the trips of some high-ranking officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Tehran. This month, the presidents of the two countries, Ilham Aliyev and Ebrahim Raisi, met within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Ashgabat. The meeting was positive and constructive."
Bayramov and Amirabdollahian will hold a joint press conference.
