Jeyhun Bayramov meets with UN High Commissioner for Refugees

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Filippo Grandi as part of his working visit to Turkiye, MFA told Report.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and humanitarian issues on the agenda. They also discussed the return of IDPs to their homes under the statement of November 10, 2020.

During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's cooperation with the UNHCR and briefed the other side on the restoration and construction work carried out in the liberated territories and the return of IDPs to these territories.

Filippo Grandi expressed his gratitude for the detailed information and noted that the work done by Azerbaijan in this direction is commendable.

The parties expressed mutual interest in continuing cooperation to ensure the safe return of IDPs to their native lands.

The meeting also discussed regional issues, including the situation in Ukraine.
