Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has received the newly appointed Roving Ambassador of Finland for the South Caucasus Kirsti Narinen,
Recalling the meeting with his Finnish counterpart within the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, Bayramov noted the prospects for the development of relations between the two countries. He stressed the importance of holding political consultations between the Finnish and Azerbaijani foreign ministries.
Ambassador Kirsti Narinen noted that a very interesting meeting was held with the President of Azerbaijan. She also recalled the meeting with members of the Friendship Group with Finland in the Azerbaijani Parliament. The ambassador said that Finland was interested in the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus and was ready to contribute to the region's future development in peace.
During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for the development of economic, energy, environmental and educational relations between the two countries.
The officials also exchanged views on regional security and other issues of mutual interest.
Today, Jeyhun Bayramov also met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Azerbaijan Maria Elena Algabre.
Bayramov wished her success in her future endeavors. The minister praised the existing political relations between Azerbaijan and the Philippines. He stressed the importance of further developing cooperation between the two countries in economic, trade, tourism, people-to-people contacts, and other areas.
Ambassador Maria Elena Algabre, in turn, thanked Minister Jeyhun Bayramov for the reception. The ambassador hailed the relations between the two countries within the existing bilateral and international organizations, noting the importance of expanding cooperation in many areas.
The sides also noted that successful cooperation and mutual support within international organizations, Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement and the successful implementation of initiatives put forward during this period, as well as the fact that Azerbaijan's position as chairman of the Movement always protects the interests of member countries and strengthens ties.
The officials exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest as well.
