The recent attacks of Armenian communities on the buildings of diplomatic representations of Azerbaijan in foreign countries are a matter of serious concern, the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan told Report.
"These attacks containing the elements of vandalism and terrorism aim to injure diplomats and their property, hence amounting to criminal acts.
"We strongly condemn the criminal actions of radical Armenian groups and expect a responsible attitude to their duties of the structures responsible for preventing such provocations in the respective countries.
"The Azerbaijani side demands that the acts of vandalism committed by the radical Armenian forces be investigated by the law enforcement agencies of the relevant states and that the actions of those who committed these crimes be given a legal assessment.
"We recall that, in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, the receiving State has a special obligation to take all appropriate measures to protect the premises of the mission from any intrusion or damage and to prevent any disturbance of the peace of the mission or insult to its dignity," the foreign ministry said.
