Leyla Abdullayeva, head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, has commented on the Armenian Foreign Minister's statement about Azerbaijan's alleged obstruction of the activities of international organizations in Karabakh.
Report quotes the official as saying the country enjoys mutually beneficial and successfully developing relations with international organizations.
"Everyone is aware about our country's active participation in multilateral platforms, including its successful chairmanship of a number of organizations. As for the activities of international organizations in Azerbaijan, we remind that under the UN General Assembly resolution on the coordination of humanitarian aid dated December 19, 1991, such activities must be based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the host country. We bring to the attention of the Armenian foreign minister that the activities of any international organization in the sovereign lands of our country is the bilateral issue of Azerbaijan and the respective international organization. The statement of the representative of the third state on this issue is inappropriate and unfounded. The Armenian foreign minister should better comment on the fulfillment of the responsibilities directly assumed by his country and the issues of building peace in the region," the foreign ministry spokesperson said.
